Chandler performance

October 27th, 2005 at 2:38 pm (3 years ago) by heikki under Chandler Desktop Development, Chandler Product News

Many of us at OSAF have started trying to use Chandler for basic calendaring needs (we call this dogfooding). One of the first things that we see that makes the experience frustrating is that Chandler is too slow in many basic operations, like creating an event. We want to improve these a lot before we release 0.6.

We have identified 9 use cases that we are most interested in, and a handful of others we are paying some attention to. We are also automatically tracking how we are doing: the Tinderbox system runs these performance tests continuously and reports how we are doing against our targets and how the times change over time as we make changes.

0.5.03 milestone reached…

June 9th, 2005 at 11:43 am (3 years, 5 months ago) by pbossut under Chandler Desktop Development, Chandler Product News

Almost sounds like old news but worth noticing: we reached the milestone on 06/02 (code wise) and it got the QA rubber stamp yesterday. You can download a build and read the report card. Special thanks to the members of the Apps team who all had deliveries with dead line for that milestone and worked over time to deliver the goods. (NB: this post is also my first OSAF Blog post…)

Sharing over SSL/TLS finally works

June 9th, 2005 at 11:20 am (3 years, 5 months ago) by heikki under Chandler Product News

Did you know Chandler now supports sharing to a webserver over SSL/TLS connection? Look in your account settings for sharing, and check the SSL box and you are all set. Some bugs remain, so please check Bugzilla if something does not work and file new ones if appropriate.

PS. My first ever blog post.

After QA filed some regression bugs and the dev team fixed said bugs they asked me to re-spin the Milestone build and yesterday I did just that.
